Rent a kayak and explore the Costa Brava at your own pace from any of four beach bases. Season: June to end of September, daily 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Every rental includes kayak, paddle, life jacket, coastal guide map, and expert staff advice. Rentals of 4+ hours include a waterproof dry bag.

From the virgin beaches of Castell-Cap Roig to the wind-sculpted geological formations of Cap de Creus — where Salvador Dalí found his inspiration — Kayaking Costa Brava offers guided sea kayak excursions, equipment rental, courses, and corporate programs across four coastal bases. Founded in 1993, when sea kayaking was virtually unknown on the Costa Brava, we pioneered the activity here. Our first bases opened at Montgrí and Tamariu that same year. Platja Castell followed in 1997 (the year we also opened our shop in L’Escala), and Portlligat in 2000. Three decades on, our guides hold official accreditation for both the Parc Natural de Cap de Creus and the Parc Natural del Massís del Montgrí, Illes Medes i Baix Ter. We maintain ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications, SICTED tourism quality commitment (since 2015), and the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS) from both natural parks. Beyond guided excursions, we offer seasonal kayak rental at four beaches, beginner and advanced courses with BCU (British Canoe Union) certification, educational programs for schools, and tailored corporate team-building experiences.
We work in some of the most emblematic and beautiful places on the Costa Brava, and we take that responsibility seriously. Since 2012, we have organized volunteer coastal cleanups by kayak — collecting waste from beaches and coves unreachable on foot. Each season we run three free cleanup events: at Tamariu (with Giroguies), Platja Castell (with the Municipality of Palamós), and Portlligat (with Escola d’en Mar). These are open to the public, last four hours, and we provide all equipment — kayaks, paddles, life jackets, bags, a support vessel, and refreshments afterward.
Our environmental commitment extends to operations. We have installed solar panels at our Portlligat and Castell bases, use certified wood and ecological paints, and chose recyclable polyethylene kayaks over fiberglass. Every activity begins with an environmental briefing, and our guides carry waterproof reference materials on local flora, fauna, and geology. We also support local swimming events including the Marnató de Cadaqués and Marnató de Begur with volunteer kayak safety teams.
These are backed by ISO 14001:2015 environmental management certification, SICTED tourism quality commitment, and the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS) granted independently by both the Montgrí and Cap de Creus natural park authorities.
